RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Companion Animal Behaviour
Wilson’s Veterinary Behaviour Referrals is owned and run by Beverley Wilson, a veterinary surgeon with extensive experience in animal behaviour. Beverley graduated as a veterinary surgeon from the University of Nottingham School of Veterinary Medicine and Science in 2012 and went on to complete a master’s degree in clinical animal behaviour. She is an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Companion Animal Behaviour and a Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist. Beverley is also currently undertaking her PhD, focusing on differentiating fear and frustration in dogs.
Alongside her behaviour referral work, Beverley holds a postgraduate certificate in small animal medicine and continues to work in general practice, maintaining a broad clinical perspective that supports her behaviour caseload.
Beverley brings a wealth of knowledge, practical insight, and clinical experience to every case. She is passionate about supporting pets and their caregivers with empathy, evidence based guidance, and clear communication. Beverley is committed to sharing her expertise with others and mentors both members of the Fellowship of Animal Behaviour Clinicians (FAB Clinicians) and individual veterinary behaviourists. She also serves on the FAB Clinicians veterinary subcommittee.
Beverley has published case reports and research findings in the field of animal behaviour. A selection of her articles can be found below.
Beverley has experience with a wide range of problem behaviours and has consulted for cases in a different setting from a behaviour referral clinic to charities. Additionally, Beverley has delivered continuing professional development sessions for veterinary staff.
The support team
Wilson’s Veterinary Behaviour Referrals is supported by a dedicated team of furry (and occasionally muddy) companions who continue to motivate, inspire, and teach Beverley every day.

Ossie and Joey
Ossie and Joey are the canine members of the support team. Affectionately known as “double trouble”, they can usually be found sleeping on the job or selecting questionable items for lunch.
Lilly and Vantage
Lilly and Vantage form the feline support team. They are enthusiastic contributors to video calls, skilled at typing impressive but unintelligible additions to emails, and committed to ensuring that everything receives a generous dusting of fur.

Lilly and Belle
Lilly and Belle make up the equine support team. They are responsible for the early morning starts and late evening finishes, and they reliably add sprinklings of hay to every aspect of Wilson’s Veterinary Behaviour Referrals (even when they have not been anywhere nearby).
You will almost certainly meet at least one member of the support team during your journey with Wilson’s Veterinary Behaviour Referrals, as they particularly enjoy joining video calls (invited or otherwise).
Beverley has had the privilege of supporting each member of the support team through their own problem behaviours. Living alongside pets with individual behavioural and medical needs has given her valuable, firsthand insight into the realities caregivers face, further enhancing her ability to support caregivers with empathy and understanding.
