Welcome to

Wilson’s Veterinary Behaviour Referrals

An independent veterinary practice dedicated exclusively to behaviour cases

Wilson’s Veterinary Behaviour Referrals is an independent practice owned and run by Beverley Wilson, a veterinary surgeon with years of experience working in the field. With extensive qualifications, significant experience and a passion for helping pets and their caregivers, Beverley offers a supportive service to help caregivers understand their pet’s problem behaviours and work towards helping their pet.

Wilson’s Veterinary Behaviour Referrals offers both in-person consultations (based in North Lincolnshire) and remote consultations (for those who are unable to attend the clinic). Caregivers will be fully supported by Beverley through every step of the journey at Wilson’s Veterinary Behaviour Referrals, ensuring continuity of care with integrated veterinary and behavioural input throughout.

All pets are seen with a referral from their primary general practice vet, and Wilson’s Veterinary Behaviour Referrals will liaise with the referring vet throughout the process to ensure the best care for each pet.

For referring vets

Wilson’s Veterinary Behaviour Referrals is able to accept referrals for a wide range of cases, from routine cases to emergencies. All cases are seen by Beverley Wilson, an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Companion Animal Behaviour and Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist.

Referrals can be made via the website, or you are welcome to contact Wilson’s Veterinary Behaviour Referrals if you would like to discuss a case.

Cases can be seen for in-person appointments at a bespoke clinic based in Scunthorpe, and remote consultations can also be offered. Typically, an in-person consultation is recommended to allow a thorough and comprehensive assessment of the pet.

Continuing Professional Development can also be offered by Wilson’s Veterinary Behaviour Referrals, so please get in touch if you would like more information.

For care givers

As the behaviour field is currently unregulated, it can be very challenging to identify where to seek advice and information safely. The wealth of information available online can be overwhelming and confusing, often with contradictory guidance. It is therefore important to be able to trust where you bring your pet for support. At Wilson’s Veterinary Behaviour Referrals, you will see Beverley, a veterinary surgeon with additional veterinary and behaviour qualifications, along with years of experience working in the veterinary behaviour field and supporting pets with problem behaviours. Beverley will be your point of contact from the first consultation to the last, ensuring your pet receives consistent care throughout their journey. This is vital given the increasingly recognised interplay between health and behaviour. Beverley will also continue to liaise with your general practice vet throughout the process to ensure they remain fully informed.

Wilson’s Veterinary Behaviour Referrals is able to offer both in-person and remote consultations. In-person consultations are conducted in Scunthorpe at the referral-only centre, which provides an environment designed to help your pet cope and allows a comprehensive assessment. Generally, initial in-person consultations are recommended as they allow the most complete assessment. However, remote consultations are also available and can be useful for pets who may not cope with an in-person initial consultation, or when an in-person appointment is not possible.

Wilson’s Veterinary Behaviour Referrals is able to offer emergency consultations (typically within a week of referral) as well as routine appointments. Consultations are by appointment only and available during the week and at the weekend, both during the day and in the evenings.

You can register your pet via the website, and we will be in touch to arrange the next steps of the process. Your vet will also need to make a referral to enable us to see your pet, and they can complete this via the website. We look forward to working with you. Please do not hesitate to contact Wilson’s Veterinary Behaviour Referrals if you have any questions.
